ONE OF MANY POSTCARD

1/MANY

I love taking part in the “One of many postcard” movement. It is as fun as rewarding!

"One of many postcard" is a charitable fundraiser set up by Sheffield based print-maker John Pedder in 2018 on Instagram. John sets a date and on that day, artists around the world send an original piece of art for free to anyone in the world requesting it. The recipient makes a donation to a charitable cause or a donation to a food bank, to pay it forward. How nice to be part of such a giving community!

As far as my printmaking practice is concerned, I adore always experimenting, trying new techniques, new ideas, use a different colour palette... each time.

Amour toujours, 31st October 2019

Collaged linocut print, 10x15 cm.

This design was fuelled by anguish and sadness of Brexit.

Talisman,14th February 2020

Linocut print, 10x15 cm.

I used an Art nouveau (circa 1900) motive by an unknown artist to design this Talisman thinking of love on Valentine's day. Little did I know at that time that we would all need so much protection in 2020.

Fineus and Billie, 10th April 2020

Linocut print,15x10 cm

10th April 2020 was Good Friday in 2020. I decided to print a fish. I used a lovely drawing made by Maëlys a little friend of mine to create this 3 plates 4 colours print (she agreed forme to use her drawing).

& Ne pas plier / do not bend, small linocut stamp

A fascination for the use of black and white made me design this linocut print of my cat Pamina and her shadow on the wall of the garden. Pamina is also the muse of the little "do not bend" stamp I put on the envelopes!

Respire ! 3rd November 2020

Dry point etching on rhenalon, 10x15 cm

And small lino stamp to decorate the envelopes.

In Novemberer 2020, France was about to enter in its second lockdown so this print was an occasion to metaphorically open the window... and breathe. I portrayed a plant and experimented a different technique of print, dry point etching.

This print was reinterpreted for the Printer Solstice print exchange.

A l'aube,1st April 2021

Linocut print, 10 x 15 cm on Tosa shi paper

For the last 2020 - 2021 prompt of the #printersolstice challenge on Instagram "elements", I designed a series of small stamps inspired by the shapes of the elements in nature. The colours evoque the sky at dawn. Each print is unique since I combined differently the elements. These were my offering for this round of One of many postcard.

I made other editions of this print in different colours as blank greetings cards "Eléments naturels", which you can find in my shop.
